HOW IP SEC Apply Security?

IP SEC apply policies by using
its two methods of encapsulation or
encryption and authentication.
IP SEC Protocols

IP SEC apply policies using two
default protocols
ESP (Encapsulating Security Payload)

It is responsible for encapsulating
or encrypting ip packets during
transmission.
AH(Authentication Header)

It is responsible for verifying
machine credentials over active directory
or non active directory networks.
IPSEC Authentication Methods:

authentication methods including:
1. Kerberos V5
2. Certification Authority
3. Preshared key
IPSEC Tranmission Mode

IP SEC transmission mode defines
which network the security is transmitted
to.
1. Transport Mode (Default)
It offers security for branch
and interbranch communication
2. Tunnel Mode
It offers security for only
between branch communication.
